To get to LINO Pizza & Pasta Bar, you first need to know that Shaw House and Shaw Centre are two different buildings although they are neighbors, the bar is located at Shaw Centre.

We're there for a simple dinner, celebrating Laura's belated birthday. Their Spaghetti Aglio-Olio is the bomb.

The Rebel Company Cafe & Bar @ Serangoon

Over the weekends, we visited The Rebel Company Cafe & Bar, which is probably most frequently patronized by wealthy families judging from its proximity to Serangoon Garden Estate. It's located just 1-minute walk away from the well-known Chomp Chomp Food Centre.

The Burpple Beyond deal entitled us two mains at $20, and by topping up an additional $5, we got ourselves a bottle of beer.

South Union Park @ Jalan Kembangan

Tucked awkwardly in the landed neighborhood of Kembangan, South Union Park remains an accessible bistro at an 8-minute walking distance from Kembangan MRT.

Thanks to the Joanne's brother-in-law-to-be's Burpple deal, we got to enjoy their pricey food at half price, starting with their signature pasta - Duck Confit Tagliatella.

The 50 seater casual dining bistro has been in business for more than 5 years. It was rather vacant at the time of our visit, perhaps due to COVID-19 or our visiting hours in the prevening. And what's the coincidence of Joanne bumping into her secondary school friend sitting at the table right next to us? But her friend probably didn't recognize her as she's slimmed down a lot.

The flavor and garnish (especially the Duck Confit Tagliatella) are quite unique, like we've never taste anything like this before. Overall, easy and simple environment, with remarkable and expensive food.

Power Coffeehouse 動力咖啡屋 @ Bedok North

It's not just A Friday but THE Friday after the PSLE Marking Exercise which was exceptionally declared as a school holiday for primary schools, and I took afternoon leave to spend time with Joanne.

Browsing through Burpple Beyond deals landed us on Power Coffeehouse, a neighborhood eatery located along Bedok North Street 4, just a 1-minute walk away from Bedok 85 Market.

For the best dining experience, I recommend indoor seating, mainly because the coffeehouse is situated within earshot of a bird shop.

Serving local fusion cuisine, Power Coffeehouse's menu has some of our favorite and familiar local dishes coupled with western delicacies. Having a cup of kopitiam coffee with milk foam in a traditional mug in an air conditioned environment is at the same time confusing and gratifying.

Stella Seaside Lounge

We expected an extraordinary seaside dining experience on a Sunday evening, savoring each bite with our hair gently ruffled by the sea breeze - only to be ruined by the rainy weather.

We made a reservation for seaside dining at Stella Seaside Lounge a week ago. Little did we know that the weather would do the dining experience injustice, and we could only dine at the indoor area despite traveling all the way to the remote area along Changi Coast Walk.

Thank God that we managed to get a cab out of the restaurant because it is practically inaccessible by public transport.

Besides dining experience being contingent on the weather, prices on the menu are on the higher side. Unless you're accompanied by a gentleman like me, if you're seated on a high stool, make sure you're seated at an ergonomic distance from the table because I don't think the waiter pulls out your chair.

Interestingly, when it's closer to the evening, the waiters and waitresses bring out artificial candles (basically fairy lights in cylindrical containers) and place one on each table.
