I joined the Quality Control department since July 2015 and I was kinda assigned to organize one for this last quarter. To be honest I suck at organizing events and so the best option for me is to go for lunch/dinner as a group and that's it.
We did gather opinion from the shop to get feedback and well, having dinner at Sakura International Buffet has the highest vote so we went ahead for that.
It's $42.80 (incl. GST) per adult for dinner on a weekend because we went on Sunday so that more shop floor employees are able to make it. You can find out their rates at the Suki Group website.
It's located at the north corner of the club, but that's not the main entrance.
Turn left after passing the main lobby and you'll find the main entrance
The interior
And my favorite sushi bar
You may approach the chef to slice sashimi for you
I've... actually never seen a SJORA dispenser in my life before
Not sure if the shark's fin soup is genuine but it does taste good
Dim sum, another thing that I wouldn't expect to see
Desserts corner, rainbow cakes, éclair, doughnuts... I wished my stomach was empty again...
And these are my fellow shop floor colleagues from QC
And finally a group photo at the lobby
If you have a scrupulous tastebud, I wouldn't say $40+ is the money worth paying for, but for its food variety, yes, though having the boundary spread a little too much to the extent I feel it loses the Japanese authenticity (well that might not be the intention of having named the restaurant but to me 'Sakura' and the Sakura flowers in its logo suggest so, 2nd but, the word 'International' suggests the opposite). It seems like it's making sure the variety is all rounded.
If you just simply have craving for sushi then just come and spam. You'd probably make yourself full pretty quickly.
Oh well it's free for me anyway how would I mind? :)
I initially booked for 55 adults and received a quotation with a 10% SAFRA discount after negotiation (oh, do bring along your SAFRA card to enjoy 10% off your bill if you have any). Sadly on that day itself only 44 turned up and thankfully upon request I paid for only 44 pax even with the 10% discount at the cash register, helping my department to save another $400. ;)
