Tutti Frutti @ Clementi

When I stepped into it, I continued walking inwards, the strange glance of the female shop assistant shot something to my mind - "oh shit, is it something like self service or what that I didn't know?". And ya, "first time here?", she asked, which made me felt somehow embarrassed.

She then explained to me what to do.

So next time when you enter Tutti Frutti, get yourself a paper cup and scoop dispense yourself the frozen yogurt with your favourite flavours.

We dispensed original, vanilla, chocolate and cookie n cream flavoured frozen yogurt.
There were two dozens of toppings for us to choose from and since the price of the yogurt is by the weight.
Instead of fruits which are relative heavy, we picked some others like M&M's, rainbow rice, gummy bears etc.

(0.175kg × $37/kg = $6.48) − 20% = $5.18

Somehow I personally feel that original flavour still tastes the best for frozen yogurt compared to the rest. Perhaps for me, fancy flavours are relatively suitable for ice cream but not frozen yogurt.

Mayim Chinese Cuisine @ West Mall

A cheapskate like me rarely check in luggages for flight and so I couldn't bring back the Allano Hand & Body Lotion from home to Singapore because it's flammable. My mum had to pass it to my relative who went back to Penang who is currently staying in Bukit Batok, Singapore so that I can collect from here.

This brought us to realize the reason why I had my lunch at West Mall - as I collected the lotion from her at the Bukit Batok Polyclinic when she brought her baby for consultation.

I googled about food at West Mall then found Mayim Chinese Cuisine 天樂里精品食館, let's try it (while I don't know how '天樂里' is translated to 'Mayim').

Chu Luei was dragged along for lunch - nothing much to choose for lunch during vacation in NUS.

According to Wikipedia, 天樂里 is a street in Hong Kong. That makes sense while it's a place for dim sum, but still I don't see the link with 'Mayim' (as according to Mayim's website, 'mayim', the 13th letter of the hebrew alphabet means 'water').

燒味雙拼麵(湯) Noodles with 2 choices of roasted meat served in soup ($7.80) ★★★★☆

上海小籠包 Shanghai "xiao long bao" ($0.80 per piece) ★★★★★
Need some skills to eat these with maximum pleasure - preventing the soup inside the dumplings from leaking.

荷香珍珠雞 Steamed glutinous rice with chicken in lotus leaf ($2.50) ★★★★☆

鼓汁蒸排骨 Steamed pork ribs with black bean ($2.50) ★★★☆☆

海南炸饅頭 Golden fried bun ($1.00 per piece) ★★★★☆
It is served with kaya as the buns are plain but crunchy.

* Prices are subject to 10% service charge and 7% GST

The dim sums were really delicious and affordable but sadly we're charged $1 for the Kimchi served initially as appetizer (I supposed, and apparently we didn't order that) and $0.60 for the soft towelettes. :(

Javier's Rotisserie & Salad @ Cathay Cineleisure Orchard

This is my 2nd post about Javier's Rotisserie & Salad, click here for my first post with more detailed review.

It's a brunch for Joling and me after collection of my Sweden Residence Permit card at TripleOne Somerset.

This time it's even thriftier - we ordered 1/4 Javier's Roast Chicken with side dishes, and you know what? We couldn't finish and we didn't even really fully fill the plate with side dishes.

1/4 Javier's Roast Chicken with mushroom sauce ($11.90)
Indeed, the chicken was of quarter on the plate.

I felt so sorry to fail to finish the meal, leaving with 6 pieces of hash browns and some other side dishes.

I hope the African kids won't see this.

Lessons:
• Never overfill your plate if you don't think you can finish
• Even for this portion, one should ask more than two persons for "help"
• It is FREAKING WORTH YOUR MONEY!!

Botak Jones @ Clementi

Borrowing the convenience of me making a telegraphic transfer of SEK2150 (≈ SGD400) to Lund University as my hostel rental prepayment at DBS Bank, Clementi before it closes at 1pm (it's a Saturday), I brought Joling to Botak Jones for lunch, again.

Cajun Chicken ($8.00) ★★★★☆
Cajun Chicken is what I usually will order as it's among the affordable ones.

Swanky Franky Chicken ($10.35) ★★★★★

Too bad they ran out of fish on that day so Botak Fish & Chips and "The" Fish Burger Joling was to order weren't available, and I was introduced the promotional set of Swanky Franky Chicken or Beef @ $10.35 instead of U.P. @ $11.50 (not much discount anyway).

Swanky Franky Chicken sausage is wrapped in Canadian streaky bacon & topped with melted cheddar cheese, as you can see, layers and layers wrappings around the longitudinal axis of the sausage. Yummy...

Re Della Pasta @ KSL City Mall

Despite being sick, I travelled all the way to City Square, Johor Bahru from NUS half way after my SEP Ambassador Training Programme,

Joling suggested me to take a taxi ride to KSL City Mall for lunch. It was RM6 from City Square, not expensive.

We wandered around the mall for the food's corner for a while as Joling wasn't so familiar with the place, before we found Re Della Pasta, established under Taste Bug's Restaurant & Cafe.

We ordered only one set lunch plus a brownie, as we thought it would be enough to fill our stomachs.
(Set lunch menu hours: 12-7pm on weekdays)

Soup of the day (Mushroom soup), Iced lemon tea, Ice cream (served with set lunch)

Grilled Chicken Ala King Cook in Variety Vegetable serve with Salad French Fries (RM23) ★★★★☆

It's the main course of the set lunch, name's typed according to the set lunch menu - poor grammar.

Chocolate Brownies (RM7.95) ★★★☆☆

The brownie's like over-baked, causing it to be extremely hard to cut, apart from the chao-da taste of the bottom layer.
