Folk Yard @ Poiz Centre

The one-week-young Folk Yard is a delightful cafe addition to the Potong Pasir neighborhood, serving mainly sandwiches, sandwiches and sandwiches at Poiz Centre, located conveniently right at Potong Pasir MRT Station.

Indecisive diners will love this place for its two-paged-brochure-sized menu, despite that, the food quality isn't compromised by the limited choices, though they're slightly on the pricey side.

A special shoutout to Laura who introduced me to this new cafe and brought me along for a satisfying weekend brunch.

Citrus By The Pool @ Woodlands Swimming Complex

Tucked at the corner of Woodlands Swimming Complex, Citrus By The Pool is truly a rare find for a Halal-certified café in the North, serving Western and Asian Inspired Fusion cuisine.

And how much more authentic can Thai food be when it's exclusively cooked by a bona fide Thai cook?
Not to mention their Instagram worthy Signature Ice Coffees with espresso shots! Every sip was gratifying.

Neon lights and tasteful interior decoration will surely deliver "good vibes only", like one of their neon quotes declares.
It's simply an extraordinary dining experience in a lively environment.

Watami Japanese Dining @ Downtown East

This is another restaurant in the vicinity where I live which I've always walked pass but never actually patronized.

My fiancé's fingernail artist friend attributed Watami as an affordable Japanese restaurant.

Located at Downtown East (E!Hub), getting there by public transport in the day can be burning hot because there's no shelter from the nearest bus stop at the time of writing.

Suki-Ya @ Heartland Mall Kovan

I'd say it's a waste to miss dining at Suki-Ya during my birthday month, because of their birthday treat - as long as the birthday celebrant dines with at least 1 other paying adult, the celebrant dines for free.

However, that has changed this year - instead of 1, the celebrant has to bring along at least 3 paying adults now to enjoy the free treat.

We visited Suki-ya in my birthday month anyway, as I do enjoy a hearty and soupy shabu-shabu meal. Besides, this year they introduced the new tomato soup base.

It turned out that I could actually get a $20 birthday voucher to offset my bill when I register as a new member with Creative Eateries, the parent company of Suki-Ya. Thank God!

It's worth it when you get to order unlimited amount of their quality meat:

13 Inch @ Aranda Country Club

[Update] The restaurant has permanently closed down.

We recently discovered a newly opened restaurant in Pasir Ris from our Burpple app. Located at the Aranda Country Club at the hub of Downtown East, 13 Inch is offering 1-for-1 deals with Burpple Beyond.

We were there at noon, it was therefore a comfortable hideout from the immense heat at Downtown East thanks to the lack of shelter. Supposedly quiet, our ears bled for quite a while with the baby and toddler next to our table constantly yelling and crying.

It looked like they're significantly understaffed, despite that, the food was worth the wait, although I wouldn't say it's affordable. Their crispy furikake fries are definitely worth mentioning.

Will I visit again? With the Burpple 1-for-1 deal, I probably would.

Hoshino Coffee @ VivoCity

We're about to have fun at Skyline Luge Sentosa this school holiday. Before we headed to the island from VivoCity, we had a late lunch at Hoshino Coffee.

With The Entertainer app, we got 25% off total bill at Hoshino Coffee. Joanne would never give their Soufflé Pancake a miss each time we visited Hoshino Coffee.

Les Bouchons Rochester

My fiancé wanted to treat me to a good meal on my 33rd birthday. To surprise me, she brought me to Buona Vista without me knowing where exactly we're going.

So it turned out to be Les Bouchons Rochester, Les Bouchons's 3rd and relatively new outlet in Singapore, so new that Google Map inaccurately pinned the location, when the actual location is diagonally opposite across Rochester Park.

Here you can definitely indulge in exceptional quality and mouthwatering steak under $100.
