Auld Lang Syne (Ocarina & Keyboard Cover)

Auld Lang Syne is a traditional fold song which I believe all of us have heard before. It's often sung as a farewell or ending to other occasions like graduation.

In the cover, I used the ocarina which I bought when I went to China 5+ years ago. The typical finger positions play the scale of B major on my ocarina from the tonic note to the mediant note an octave higher. I arranged the song to be in E major first and then transposed to B major, since E major scale consists of the similar notes as B major scale except for its subdominant note A♮, which is raised to A# (leading note) in the B major scale.

I recorded this not for nothing, but for the memories I've gained throughout my 4 undergraduate years in NUS, the place where I ingested most essence of life. I learnt and grew a lot here, and most importantly I cherish every single moment spent with each and every friend I know here.

I wholeheartedly wish to dedicate this song cover that to YOU (you know who you are) before I depart for a foreign dimension of the society.
